Garrison et al. (2000) defined Community of Inquiry (CoI) as a “theoretical framework [that] represents a process of creating a deep and meaningful (collaborative-constructivist) learning experience through the development of three interdependent elements – social, cognitive, and teaching presence”.

With the recent influx of online course offerings, there are many hurdles that students may encounter in an online learning environment that could impede their learning experience, as well as decrease retention rates within distance education programs. We will explore the components of the CoI framework and provide best practices for Brightspace course design that encompasses all three elements. Join us for this interactive webinar and learn how to apply these practices and use practical Brightspace tools to create a community of inquiry.
