The Center for Forensic Science Research and Education Expands with D2L

Center for Excellence in Forensic Science Uses Brightspace to Enhance Offerings

Press Release

Global learning technology company D2L today announced that the Center for Forensic Science Research and Education (CFSRE), an organization dedicated to providing educational pathways, professional development, training, and forensic solutions, has recently expanded their course offerings with the support of D2L Brightspace.

Established in 2010 by the Fredric Rieders Family Renaissance Foundation, the CFSRE aims to support future and current forensic science practitioners and members of the justice system by providing innovation, mentorship, advanced technology and expertise to promote progress and quality.

CFSRE has been a Brightspace customer since 2020 and has recently expanded its contract to allow for more users. During the pandemic, CFSRE experienced significant growth and needed to expand its online and hybrid learning options rapidly. Now, with attendees in over 100 countries, their goal is to be the world-leading center for forensic science and knowledge transfer.

“CFSRE is positioning itself to be the go-to resource for continuing professional education in forensic toxicology, chemistry, and biology. The D2L platform has been exceedingly easy to use as our Learner Management System, and has received great feedback from our learners, encouraging repeat customers to our courses,” said Dr. Barry K. Logan, Executive Director at CFSRE. “We appreciate the great technical support from D2L and for helping make our programs run so smoothly.”

“We’re thrilled to be working with organizations like CFSRE who are providing quality education for forensic science practitioners and members of the justice system,” said John Baker, President and CEO at D2L. “Together, we’re reaching learners in over 100 countries across the globe with the most up-to-date information in forensic science and that’s something to celebrate.”

Learn more about the upcoming CFSRE hybrid course offerings including ‘The Effects of Drugs on Human Performance and Behavior’ taking place September 26-30 and a free course called ‘Re-Introducing CFSRE’s NPS Discovery Program: Past, Present, and a Look into the Future’ October 11.
