From 2023 QM Connect, D2L, a global learning technology company, today shared a new partnership with Quality Matters, Inc. (QM), a global organization leading quality assurance in online and innovative digital teaching and learning environments. Quality Matters works to help promote and improve the quality of online education and student learning nationally and internationally through research, industry-leading expertise, and professional development opportunities.
QM is a non-profit organization committed to high-quality digital learning in higher education, K-12, and continuing and professional education environments. QM Rubrics for course design, the companion peer-review process, and targeted professional development for course design and teaching help empower faculty to evaluate their courses and provide guidance for improving course quality across an institution. More than 1,500 institutions and organizations from 40 countries have joined the QM community. QM members have participated in the certification of nearly 15,000 courses and the training of more than 200,000 education professionals since QM’s inception twenty years ago.
“The climate of education is changing. The university brand and price tag are no longer enough to help gain a quality learning experience,” said Dr. Cristi Ford, SVP of Academic Affairs at D2L. “Our partnership with Quality Matters is an important step we’re taking to help prioritize access to high quality education for learners who use D2L Brightspace.”
