Dr. Richard Marsden
Richard is by trade a historian, but currently holds the role of Associate Dean for Curriculum, Qualifications and Partnerships in the Open University’s Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, which is home to 17 subject areas and over 50,000 students. He has held various other leadership positions in faculty over the years, including Associate Dean for Teaching and Learning and before that Director of Teaching for the School of Arts and Humanities. Before joining the OU in 2016 Richard spent ten years working in conventional universities. He holds a PhD from the University of Glasgow, and is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
