Press Release
D2L, a global learning technology company, today shared that its flagship learning innovation platform D2L Brightspace was named the 2023 winner of the Best Professional Learning Solution for Educators award. This is the 10th CODiE award win D2L Brightspace has earned since 2019.
Acknowledged as the premier awards program for the software and information industries, the SIIA CODiE Awards are produced by the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) and are the industry’s only peer-reviewed awards program. For over 35 years, the SIIA CODiE Awards have recognized the companies producing the most innovative business and education technology products around the world.
There is a growing demand to future-proof workers through the support of upskilling and reskilling to stay competitive, improve quality of work, and enhance productivity. Recognizing that professional development is no longer just an asset, but a need, more educational institutions are turning to their learning solution providers to aid in the career growth of their faculty. This award extols D2L’s learning innovation platform, Brightspace, on its accessibility, customization, flexibility and other features that make this technology a world-class solution in supporting educators’ learning needs.
“[The Brightspace] platform has been a highly effective tool for my curriculum team, providing an ‘easy to use and navigate’ communication tool with the educators and leaders across the board,” said Linda Ford-DeCunha, Education Officer, Durham District School Board.
To be named as a finalist for a SIIA CODiE award, nominees receive two rigorous reviews by industry experts. SIIA members then vote on the finalist products, and the scores from both rounds are tabulated to select the winners of this prestigious award.
“We are honoured to be the recipients of this 2023 CODiE Award, our tenth CODiE award win since 2019,” said John Baker, CEO of D2L. “This award will inspire and further fuel our teams to continue innovating while staying anchored in our long-standing commitment to creating better, smarter and more accessible learning solutions that help engage and empower all types of learners around the world.”
In addition to Brightspace, D2L also offers a professional learning platform designed for employees: D2L Wave. D2L Wave is an upskilling platform that provides employees with an online course catalog of curated, high-quality courses from universities, colleges, and other higher education providers.
This is the fifth year D2L Brightspace has been named a winner of the annual SIIA CODiE Awards: 2022, 2021, 2020, and 2019. Previous award wins include: Best Learning Management System (LMS), Best Customer Experience in EdTech, Best Solution for Students with Special Needs, Best Remote Learning Experience Partner K-12/Higher Education, Best K-12 Learning Management Solution, Best Professional Learning Solution for Faculty and Administrative Staff, Best Customer Education LMS, and Best Emerging Education Technology Solution for Administrators.
