Providing a multi-sensory experience

Even when there isn’t an obvious demonstrative aspect to video, the visual and auditory cues it offers may create a more well-rounded learning experience than is possible with other mediums. For example, text-based content is reliant on the interpretive capabilities of the employee: some people read faster than others; some are better at visualizing text-based descriptions; and some employees are better at retaining information from text.
