Benedictine University Turns to D2L as a Trusted Partner

Historic Institution Emerges Stronger Through Challenging Year Thanks to Brightspace

Press Release

Global learning technology leader D2L announced today that century-old institution, Benedictine University, has deepened its partnership with D2L to help support their remote students, on a global scale.

Benedictine University is a catholic institution dedicated to providing an inclusive academic community committed to teaching and learning, scholarship and service, truth and justice, and the social teaching of the Church. Aspiring to be a national thought leader, they seek to provide transformative and integrative educational experience grounded in Benedictine values, helping students shape lives of meaning and purpose as engaged citizens who promote the good of all.

Benedictine is a long-standing client of D2L’s, but at the start of the pandemic, the university asked for additional Help Desk Support foreseeing the rise in students registering for online education. Partnering with D2L allowed them to support students around the globe.

“In a time of constant worry, D2L was a rock and D2Lers were there for us during an incredibly challenging year,” says Rico D’Amore, Director Academic Services Technology, Benedictine University. “D2L always came through, and we cannot express how much the seamlessness of the customer experience in such a difficult time made all the difference. Moreover, D2L Brightspace gave instructors and professors the ability to reshape how content is delivered. As our instructors prepare for the fall, they are continuing to analyze new innovative ways to deliver engaging content online. Despite this challenging time, there were unexpected surprises and bright spots.”

“Building on the excitement and energy generated by our annual Fusion conference, we’re celebrating our customers and the ways in which they are changing the world,” says April Oman, Senior Vice President, Customer Engagement at D2L. “We’re proud that Benedictine University has made us a part of their success story, persevering – and emerging even stronger – through a challenging year.”
