Press Release
A global learning technology company D2L announced that long-term customer, Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR), has re-launched D2L Brightspace as of January 2022, to reach more learners throughout the state. In June 2021, after a competitive process, TBR — a D2L Brightspace customer since 2006 — chose to renew and expand its contract for another 5 years with D2L.
The Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) governs the College System of Tennessee, the state’s largest public higher education system, with 40 community colleges and colleges of applied technology. TBR also governs the online TN eCampus, a statewide partnership among all 13 TBR community colleges and four locally governed public universities. TN eCampus facilitates a collaborative online learning environment among its partners, allowing students to take courses from other partner campuses that may not be offered at their local institutions.
D2L Brightspace will also support TBR and the Tennessee Department of Education with Early Postsecondary Opportunities (EPSO), which give students the opportunity for postsecondary credit by taking courses and challenge exams while still in high school.
“In summer 2021, we took a step back and evaluated the market to ensure we had the best possible learning management system to fit our needs. It was clear our long-term partner D2L was the right choice for us,” said Dr. Christine Mayer, Executive Director of TN eCampus at Tennessee Board of Regents. “We’re looking forward to continuing growth together as we reach more students in Tennessee.”
“We’re thrilled to continue work with education leaders like TBR as they grow and develop their collaborative programs in person and online,” said John Baker, CEO and President of D2L. “Together, we’re supporting their efforts to make learning more accessible and personalized for students across the state.”
D2L is a proud event sponsor of TBR’s Statewide Outstanding Achievement & Recognition (SOAR) Awards – a celebration of education, teaching and learning.
