Press Release
D2L, a global leader in learning innovation, today announced that Henry Ford College (HFC) has selected D2L Brightspace to replace their legacy platform, Moodle, to support AI‑enhanced learning experiences for more than 12,000 learners across Michigan.
For more than 80 years, Henry Ford College has focused on transforming lives and building better futures through top‑rated academic programs designed to prepare students for career success. By adopting D2L Brightspace, HFC aims to elevate teaching and learning through a modern interface and AI-based enhancements defined by instructors. This is set to help deliver more interactive experiences and tailored learner resources while streamlining faculty workflows.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Henry Ford College to the Brightspace community. HFC is deeply committed to supporting learners with more accessible, engaging, and future‑ready experiences. We’re excited to help their faculty save time, support student success, and help unlock the potential of AI‑enhanced learning across their institution.”
Following an anticipated initial rollout in the second half of 2026, Henry Ford College plans to transition all programs to D2L Brightspace during Fall 2027. D2L is set to support HFC in designing and delivering more engaging learning experiences with the support of:
- D2L Brightspace: An award-winning learning platform, designed to help educators create interactive content, deliver more personalized learning, and monitor learner progress.
- D2L Lumi: An AI-native offering helping learners succeed with more personalized study support and saving instructional designers and educators time while building more engaging content.
- D2L Creator+: A dynamic content creation tool that can integrate 50+ interactive content types with H5P to support more engaging and accessible learning experiences.
Henry Ford College also selected D2L partners FeedbackFruits to enhance collaboration with peer feedback tools, and K16 Solutions, to archive previous course materials securely and efficiently.
“We’re committed to giving our learners the most engaging and supportive experience possible, and D2L Brightspace aligns with that mission. D2L Creator+ and D2L Lumi will help our faculty transform traditional course materials into rich, interactive learning experiences, and free instructors to spend more time connecting with students. D2L’s consistent support throughout this process made it clear they were the right choice for HFC.”
