D2L Named a ‘Top Employer for Young People’ Again

D2L Continues Award-Winning Streak as a Top Employer for Canada’s Young People and for the Waterloo Area

D2L, a global learning technology company, today announced that, for the eighth year, it has been named as one of Canada’s Top Employers for Young People for 2022. D2L was also named one of Waterloo Area’s Top Employers for the 11th consecutive year for creating an exceptional work environment at its corporate headquarters in Kitchener, Ontario.

“Young people — in fact all people — want to be inspired by their work. They want a sense of mission and to know they’re making a difference. That’s what we strive to do at D2L,” says Yvonne Bell, Senior Vice President of People and Culture at D2L. “We’re on a mission to help learners achieve more than they imagined possible — and that’s not possible without the inspired and innovative work being done every day by young D2Lers. I’d like to thank the people at Canada’s Top 100 Employers for recognizing the hard work of our People and Culture team as well as the contributions of our young and ambitious workforce.”

Now marking its 20th year, Canada’s Top Employers for Young People is a competition that recognizes employers offering the nation’s best workplaces and programs for young people starting their careers. Winners of the competition are chosen by the organizers of the annual Canada’s Top 100 Employers list based on the programs and initiatives they offer to attract and retain younger workers, mentorship and training programs, and career management programs. This is the eighth year D2L has earned this honor: 2012 – 2014 and 2018 – 2022.

Some of the reasons why D2L was selected as one of Canada’s Top Employers for Young People (2022) include:

  • Developing future leaders through the LEAD (Learning, Engagement and Development) program, which helps employees grow and move to the next level in their careers.
  • Having LEAD participants work on an action learning project to solve a real D2L problem that they present to senior leaders at the end of the program.
