JOB SUMMARY:

As a Project Manager in Learning Services, you will play a critical role supporting the Custom Development Services project team by planning, executing, and overseeing the successful completion of various software development projects for our clients. You will be responsible for coordinating resources, managing timelines, maintaining project documents, and ensuring that project goals and objectives are achieved. The Project Manager will collaborate with all stakeholders including the project delivery team, cross-functional teams, and clients to streamline communication, foster positive working relationships, and ensure all parties are aligned throughout the project lifecycle.  

Major Responsibilities: 

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including details on project scope, objectives, deliverables, and prepare timelines, communication plans, and resourcing.  
  • Act as a Scrum Master, facilitating daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives. 
  • Support the project teams collaborate with client stakeholders to identify project requirements and establish clear project goals. 
  • Allocate and manage project resources efficiently. 
  • Monitor resource utilization to ensure optimal productivity and utilization. 
  • Spearhead and motivate project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.  
  • Assign tasks, provide guidance, and facilitate effective communication among team members. 
  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies. 
  • Proactively address issues and obstacles that may arise during project execution to minimize disruptions and ensure timely delivery. 
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including clients, internal teams, and external vendors.  
  • Regularly communicate project status, progress, and updates to ensure alignment and manage expectations. 
  • Monitor project budgets and proactively mitigate trending project overages. 
  • Report monthly to leadership on finance on project metrics.  
  • Prepare project reports, status updates, and documentation to keep stakeholders informed.  
  • Maintain accurate project records, including documentation of decisions, changes, and approvals. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams as required. 
  • Assist with various special projects for stakeholders as required.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure. 

Experience  

  • 5+ years of working in a client facing environment. 
  • 5+ years of experience in a software development environment is highly beneficial. 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 
  • Advanced Microsoft program skills, including knowledge of Pivot Tables and PowerPoint. 
  • Advanced SmartSheet skills including creating custom dashboards for reporting  
  • Advanced Jira skills including task management, collaboration and agile project management 
  • Experience working in Salesforce, OpenAir, and PowerBI are considered an asset

The expected base salary range for a new hire in this role is listed below. The annualized base salary offered is determined by each candidate’s relevant knowledge, skills, education, training and experience. It is aligned to ensure both internal and external competitiveness using market data for the geographic location and industry. As part of the total compensation at D2L the role may be eligible for additional benefits including a Wellness Subsidy, Equity Grants, Variable Incentive, and more.

Base Salary Range
$75,500$99,750 CAD
