Job Summary: 

The Digital Analyst is the web analytics and digital media metrics lead who is focused on visualizing the impact to our digital marketing content and campaigns. The successful candidate is a critical thinker and problem solver, comfortable exploring data and formulating insights to drive action. As our Digital Analyst, you will report to the Director, Web Experience as a cornerstone of the Web Team, and with a primary focus on driving business results through development and execution of world class analytics to meet evolving business needs. You will be responsible for tracking, monitoring and interpreting customer behavior across D2L sites and apps and campaign channels to identify and action opportunities across all our digital properties and channels.   

In this role, you will be a significant driver of success going forward by creating a clear view of the impact of the work of the team, and potential areas for improvement across the board.  The outputs from this position are directly relevant to everyone from the high-level strategy and Senior Leadership reporting to tactical campaign coordinators. Dealing with complex digital technological ad organization environments, this role will actively support the movement of web and digital analytics into the larger D2L measurement and BI framework as well working to standardize reporting, help identify opportunities for testing, and establish methods of actively circulating learnings across all the marketing teams.  

How You Will Make an Impact: 

  • Collaborate and strategize with Digital and greater Marketing team to build and develop a world class digital B2B experience  
  • Work with internal stakeholders on tracking requests/analyses/reporting, and partner with Marketing and SalesOps, BI Teams, etc., to craft technical analytic tracking requirements   
  • Own Campaign, Web, and SEO performance reporting across the organization; partner with marketing channel owners to resolve tracking issues and derive insights, optimizations  
  • Answer key business questions through analyses, reporting and dashboards using toolset available to the teams (Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, Excel, Looker Studio, Supermetrics, PowerBI, Salesforce, Tableau, etc)   
  • Prepare executive-ready presentations summarizing findings and recommendations, and automate reports and dashboards that the organization finds valuable  
  • Work with Web, BI, Marketing and SalesOps, and other stakeholders to identify consistent and relevant business and technical solutions  
  • Use clickstream, user behavior, and conversion patterns to identify potential issues in near real time and aid pro-active issue resolution with tech partners  
  • Support on-site A/B testing strategies as required  
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) to help coach those in the organization around digital analytics data 

What You'll Bring to the Role: 

Experience: 

  • 3+ years of experience in marketing analytics, web analytics, or database marketing  
  • 3+ years’ experience working with web analytics packages (primarily using Google Analytics), and with various marketing channels to scope and implement their technical tracking requirements (pixels, URL tracking, etc.) 

Skills:

  • Proficiency with the following:
    • Command-line statistical analysis software (e.g,, SAS or R) 
    • SQL 
    • Microsoft Excel/PowerPoint/PowerBI/Tableau 
    • Salesforce and Marketo or similar CRM and MAS systems 

Competencies:

  • Planning and Execution: Can develop and execute a measurement plan using the tools and data available. 
  • Strategic Thinking: Thinks past the initial request to find opportunities to provide a larger impact on a project through their position as a SME. 
  • Research and Analysis:  
    • Can find, filter and synthesize the data into actionable insights using the available tools.
    • Able to apply findings to business problems to lift revenue and profits.
  • Innovation and Problem Solving:
    • Able to find and suggest areas of improvement to existing procedures and processes. 
    • Able to find solutions to problems that arise in the reporting process. 
  • Collaboration: Works well independently but excels when working as part of a team to achieve a common goal. 
  • Presentation and Communication: Effective presentation and communication skills are crucial for delivering insights from analysis to various stakeholders, both internally and externally. 
  • Project Management: The ability to plan, execute, and manage multiple reporting initiatives simultaneously. 
  • Business Acumen: Understands marketing principles and sales cycles. 

Education Recommendations:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Marketing or a quantitative field like Economics, Mathematics or Statistics.  
  • Industry or Academic Certifications in Google Analytics 4, Digital Marketing Analytics, or similar 

Please note: This role is open to applicants in Canada. The role can be done remotely or hybrid. Candidates outside of the Eastern Time zone may need to flex hours to accommodate these core working hours. 

The expected base salary range for a new hire in this role is listed below. The annualized base salary offered is determined by each candidate’s relevant knowledge, skills, education, training and experience. It is aligned to ensure both internal and external competitiveness using market data for the geographic location and industry. As part of the total compensation at D2L the role may be eligible for additional benefits including a Wellness Subsidy, Equity Grants, Variable Incentive, and more.

Base Salary Range
$55,000$75,000 CAD
