What Is the Skills Development Fund?
The SDF supports two key streams:
- Capital Stream: Infrastructure projects (e.g., training facilities), supported by the Government of Ontario.
- Training Stream: Direct delivery of skills training to individuals.
D2L is currently supporting only the Training Stream, which is expected to open soon. This presents a timely opportunity to plan and partner with D2L.
Why Partner With D2L?
D2L is uniquely positioned to support your SDF application and training delivery. Here’s how we can help:
- Provide recommendations through the application process with our deep understanding of Ontario government funding programs.
- Support you in crafting compelling training solution language that aligns with SDF priorities.
- Position D2L as a strategic partner to strengthen your proposal.
- Reach underrepresented groups and key growth sectors.
- If selected, partner with you to design and deliver scalable, outcomes-driven training programs.
We bring deep experience in digital learning and a proven track record of successful partnerships.
Who Should Apply?
We’re looking to collaborate with:
- Ontario-based employers, industry associations, and nonprofits.
- Organizations delivering training in key growth sectors.
- Groups supporting underrepresented communities.
Note: Colleges, universities, and school boards can partner on projects but cannot apply directly.
Let’s Build Something Impactful—Together
Whether you’re ready to apply or just exploring the opportunity, we’re here to support you every step of the way.
We’re delighted with the decision we made. Our partnership has been beneficial in ways that we didn’t even anticipate at the outset. For example, D2L has turned us on to new funding opportunities. Helping us secure funding from the government of Ontario through the Skills Development Fund was consequential for us as an organization.Scott ButlerExecutive DirectorGood Roads
