General Description:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Deal Desk, the main responsibility of the Pricing Analyst is to review pricing proposals by assisting in real-time deal support and analysis. This role will work closely with the sales and revenue operations team and the legal operations team to support D2L’s global sales organization in achieving sales targets with consideration of financial outcomes. This position requires the ability to work independently while prioritizing competing requests. Working alongside an experienced team of professionals, this role is vital to the ongoing operations at D2L and the successful execution of pricing strategies.
How You Will Make an Impact:
- Review pricing proposals to clients, assisting in real-time deal support and analysis via Salesforce.
- Negotiate with and recommend to the sales team pricing and contracting solutions that balance the desire to secure new business with the desire to uphold agreed-upon pricing frameworks.
- Effectively manage competing priorities to address inquiries in a timely manner, providing a positive customer experience.
- Work closely with the sales operations and legal operations teams to ensure pricing in customer contracts complies with company policies.
- Review and interpret contracts in conjunction with the legal operations and sales teams.
- Assist in the pricing preparation of all contracts, amendments, and renewals including review of finance-specific contract terms.
- Identify and escalate to leadership complex pricing and contracting challenges as appropriate.
- Support leadership in their work with sales enablement and sales operations to ensure the sales organization is enabled with pricing strategies and quoting and pricing best practices.
- Support the compilation of competitive intelligence and market analysis to shape and develop pricing strategies.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of processes to monitor and report on pricing strategies, KPIs and results across various market segments.
- With leadership support, consider the broader impact of pricing and contract decisions on the D2L organization, including the impacts of contractual non-standard pricing or special term concessions on the full Quote-to-Cash process.
- Ad hoc reporting and special projects as required
What You’ll Bring to the Role:
- 2+ years’ experience in finance, pricing operations or revenue operations
- Experience pricing in a SaaS environment is a strong asset
- Experience working within Salesforce and CPQ or other CRM’s
- Exceptional business analysis, data management, and analytic skills
- Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office suite
- Strong ability to manage pricing-related tasks in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
- Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail and can effectively prioritize competing requests
- You are a proactive self-starter who takes initiative and works well both independently and on a team
- Skilled relationship builder, possessing strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
Location Information: This role is open to applicants located within Ontario and can be done remotely from your home office or in a hybrid model from one of our office locations in Kitchener or Toronto.
The expected base salary range for a new hire in this role is listed below. The annualized base salary offered is determined by each candidate’s relevant knowledge, skills, education, training and experience. It is aligned to ensure both internal and external competitiveness using market data for the geographic location and industry. As part of the total compensation at D2L the role may be eligible for additional benefits including a Wellness Subsidy, Equity Grants, Variable Incentive, and more.
