Global learning innovation company D2L announced today that its Brightspace platform is a SIIA CODiE Award 2022 finalist in nine categories, including Best Learning Management System and Best Personalized Learning Solution. The SIIA CODiE Awards are presented by the Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA), the principal trade association for the software, education technology, and digital content industries, and honors excellence in education and business technology.

D2L is a finalist in the following CODiE Award categories:

  • Best Personalized Learning Solution
  • Best Customer Education LMS
  • Best Emerging Education Technology Solution for Administrators
  • Best Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Best Professional Learning Solution for Educators
  • Best Solution for Students with Special Needs*
  • Best Customer Experience in Ed Tech*
  • Best Higher Education Remote Learning Partner*
  • Best K-12 Remote Learning Partner*

* D2L was awarded in these categories at the SIIA CODiE Awards in 2021

“D2L has always kept the learner and educator at the center of our platform design. Our deep commitment to digitally enabled, efficient and effective learning is the core of our business strategy, which has helped drive us to new levels of pragmatic innovation and success,” said Stephen Laster, Chief Operating Officer at D2L. “This level of recognition for our Brightspace platform in academia and the corporate world inspires us to keep reaching higher on behalf of learners, no matter what barriers they face. We are deeply committed to transforming the way the world learns, and we admire the work of organizations like SIIA, that organize assessments and inspire continuous improvement in this important market sector.”

“Nominees like D2L are revolutionizing the way we do business,” said Jennifer Baranowski, Managing Director of the CODiE Awards. “It’s an incredible honor to be recognized as the best in the tech space, among such an elite group of products and initiatives.”

“D2L’s Brightspace is a very comprehensive personalized and individualized learning management system solution designed as a learner-centric platform to be used on any device,” said one of this year’s CODiE judges in the anonymized feedback portal.

The SIIA CODiE Awards are the industry’s only peer-recognized awards program. Educators and administrators serve as judges and conduct the first-round review of all education nominees. Their scores determine the SIIA CODiE Award finalists, accounting for 80% of the overall score. SIIA members then vote on the finalist products, and the scores from both rounds are tabulated to select the winners.

As a nominee, D2L is also eligible to win Best Overall Technology Award, which is awarded to the top scoring entry from both rounds of review. Winners will be announced June 8 and 9, 2022 during a virtual celebration that will also include small group watch parties around the world.
