Dr. T. Nakia Towns has a proven track record of raising the bar for all kids, closing opportunity gaps, increasing graduation rates, and improving postsecondary readiness. Towns is currently the Deputy Superintendent of Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS), serving over 180,000 students in the state’s largest district, which is also the 11th largest in the country.

Nicole McConnell is the Director of Student Transitions (ST) where she leads a staff in the endeavor of supporting students during their key times of transition at UGA. The department of Student Transitions works to connect students to on-campus resources that will help them learn strategies to effectively navigate their collegiate experience.
