The Future of Learning: Reimagined

How Top Institutions are Evolving to Serve Rising Demand and Exceed Learner Expectations

Date: 14 June 2023 | Time: 12pm GMT

Today’s student population is the most diverse in history, distinguished by intersections of race, age, economic status, gender, sexual orientation, and many others. While research shows that diversity can increase social and cognitive development, enhance creative thinking, and help prepare students to navigate a diverse workforce, the shift in higher education—and many other industries—is just beginning.

For educators across EMEA, this pressure is compounded by the increasing demand in education. Unlike many other parts of the globe where declining enrolment continues to be a challenge, institutions in the UK, Europe, and South Africa are experiencing record numbers of enrolment (Higher Education Policy Institute, n.d.). Under the same report, it was recommended that institutions should address some of this demand with well-organised hybrid learning opportunities—but how?

Join Dr Carmen Miles, Head of Digital Education at De Montfort University; Willem van Valkenburg, Executive Director, Extension School for Continuing Education at TU Delft; and Dr. Cristi Ford, Vice-President, Academic Affairs at D2L, for a powerful conversation on how top institutions are preparing for the future of education and evolving to serve rising enrolment demand. Together, we’ll explore:

  • How top institutions are reimagining the student experience and exceeding expectations
  • How to address demand with robust, well-organised hybrid learning formats—without compromising quality
  • Tips and tricks from renowned educators
  • What role technology plays in enhancing teaching and learning experiences
