Creating a Sacred Learning Space With D2L Brightspace
With Khethwen Woo, eLearning Developer, Mount Royal University

How can a digital course reflect Indigenous knowledge and protocol?

Khethwen Woo, eLearning Developer at Mount Royal University, shares how she used D2L Brightspace to help shape Blackfoot Odyssey around Blackfoot Elder and Ceremonialist Joe Eagle Tail Feathers’ tipi design, with his permission.

The tipi’s liner and warm colors inspired details throughout the course, helping connect students’ learning with Joe to their experience in the digital space. Woo explains how Brightspace’s customization tools gave the team flexibility to carry that design into the course.

The Blackfoot Odyssey team received a D2L Excellence Award for its work. Read the Mount Royal University story to learn more.
