Taking a Growth Mindset Approach to K-12 Learning: Part 2

Explore how we can connect student growth models with school growth models

Duration: 1 hour

Welcome to the second part of our webinar on Growth Mindset.

In Part 1, we tackled the topic of learner growth in a pandemic context and explored topics around student well-being, deeper learning, and building capacity in school districts to support learning growth.

For this second webinar, we hope you will join us as we build on that discussion to further explore how we can connect student growth models and practices with school growth models (building systems of change).

Presented by:

  • Jason Horne, Ed.D (Secondary Supervisor, Campbell County Schools)
  • Marcella Barros (Lead Senior Director of Instruction, Student Support and Professional Learning, New York City Department of Education)
  • Michael Fullan, O.C. (Global Leadership Director, New Pedagogies for Deep Learning)

Moderated by:

  • Kassia Kukurudza (Senior Academic Affairs Manager, D2L)

We will look at SEL, flexible pathways, mastery, and authentic curriculum along with the underlying importance of equity, professional learning, and system resilience. We will also look at the practical tools needed to help support learner growth in our current K-12 contexts.
