Tackling Org Structure Using Self-Serve Analytics

The Concrete and the Strategic

Duration: 1 hour

D2L Site Admins Network

A fundamental challenge of manipulating Brightspace data is navigating organizational structure. Filtering datasets by parent-child relationships helps to create a cohesive and customizable dashboard. This session demonstrates our technical approach using Self-Serve Analytics (DOMO) to filter Data Sets by parent-child-ancestor relationships.

Furthermore, automated dashboard reports and DOMO’s self-service features empower stakeholders to alter visualizations to their needs. This session also demonstrates how to set up filters, scheduled emails, and alerts.

We will conclude with a discussion surrounding the strategic challenges WCU is facing as we plan to build department-based early alerts and design a process for managing this sensitive data.
