Five More Quick Wins for Accessible Online Courses
Barry Dahl, D2L
In a May 2015 webinar titled “Five Easy Wins for Making your Brightspace Courses more Accessible to Students with Disabilities,” we looked at some relatively simple ways that you could improve the accessibility of your online courses with minimal effort. In this follow-up webinar, we’ll look at five more ways that you can make an immediate impact on the accessibility of your online course content. The five areas to be covered include 1) proper alt text insertion in various types of media, 2) proper use of headings in course content documents, 3) properly creating tables with the Brightspace html editor, 4) easy ways to create scripts and transcripts, and 5) editing YouTube captions and the importance of phrasing.
