Heidi Blair, PhD Director of Instructional Design and Technology, Regis University In her 30+ years in education, Heidi has taught Kindergarteners to doctoral students on two continents. At Arizona State University she fed her passion for problem-solving and solution development with a master’s in Learning and Instructional Technology and PhD in Educational Technology. In the last 10 years, she focused on developing collaborative teams devoted to innovative solution development in higher education. These teams have designed and developed web applications, resource platforms, professional learning, and online courses. As an Associate Professor and the Director of Instructional Design and Technology at Regis University, Heidi leads a team of instructional designers and technologists who collaborate with faculty to provide engaging online learning experiences. She has led the creation of the Academic Technologies Advisory Group, Regis Characteristics of High-Quality Online Courses, and the Regis Teaching Excellence Network. Heidi enjoys serving as a mentor to pay forward the great mentoring she has received throughout her career. Jeff Schwartz Director of Learning Design for Online Programs, Loyola Marymount University Jeff Schwartz works at Loyola Marymount University (Los Angeles, CA) as the Director of Learning Design for Online Programs, where he oversees a team that supports course development and instructional design for online/hybrid degrees and certificate programs. His professional background in education, technology, and business development make him uniquely qualified to support academic leadership, faculty, and students alike. Jeff also partners with the Center for Teaching Excellence, Information Technology Services, and the university's Academic Technology Committee, amongst other stakeholders, to strategize and plan technology adoptions and academic technology deployment at LMU. With nearly two decades of experience in K-12 classrooms and higher education, as well as a Master’s degree (M. Ed in Information Systems and Learning Technologies) Jeff has become a valuable member of the faculty and staff at Loyola Marymount University. When he's not working, Jeff enjoys spending time with family, playing guitar and attending live music events, coaching little league, playing video games, and rooting for the Green Bay Packers. Jen Maney Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning, Marquette University Jennifer Maney is the director of the Center for Teaching and Learning at Marquette University. Her role is to best support the pedagogical practices of all faculty/instructors and also support them with the infusion of Ignatian pedagogy into their teaching. She is also responsible for helping to build inclusive, equitable and justice-focused learning experiences in the classroom by helping faculty think of their implicit biases and could impact a welcoming environment for all students. Service Learning also reports to the CTL in support of faculty and community engagement in an academic environment. Prior to this position she was responsible for the coordination for the Greater Milwaukee Catholic Education Consortium. The GMCEC was a collaborative effort between Alverno College, Mount Mary College, Cardinal Stritch University, Marian University and Marquette University, who joined forces to support Catholic education in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. The combined power of the GMCEC was be tapped to keep area P-12 Catholic education not only alive but vibrant. Father Jose Badenes Associate Provost for Undergraduate Education, Loyola Marymount University José I. Badenes, S.J., Ph.D. serves as Associate Provost for Undergraduate Education and Professor of Spanish at Loyola Marymount University. Father Badenes has been a professor in LMU's Department of Modern Languages and Literatures since 1996, where he has taught courses in Spanish language, literature, and culture, as well as interdisciplinary Humanities seminars for the University Honors Program, the Catholic Studies Program, and the First Year Seminar experience in the University Core Curriculum. He earned his Ph.D. in Hispanic Languages and Literatures from the University of California at Santa Barbara and has Masters degrees in Romance Languages and Literatures from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and in Divinity and Theology from the Jesuit School of Theology at Santa Clara (formerly Berkeley). His current research focus is on early 20th century Spanish artist Federico García Lorca, particularly the relationship between his aesthetics, gender and sexuality issues, and Catholicism in his work. Father Badenes´ responsibilities in his role as Associate Provost for Undergraduate Education at LMU include oversight of the Core Curriculum, the University Honors Program, the Academic Resource Center, Disability Support Services, the Katz Family and Academic Skills Program, the Ignacio Student Support Services Program, the Living and Learning Communities, and the Faculty Engagement Program. He is also responsible for monitoring violations to the University´s Academic Honesty Policy. He reports to Vice-Provost for Academic Affairs David Sapp.
