Designing for Local K12 System Resiliency: A Framework for Innovating through Abrupt and Ongoing Disruptions

Duration: 30 minutes

Vernon Jones Jr. Executive Director/Lead Learner, Northeast Denver Innovation Zone
Kecia Ray, Partner, K20Connect
Mark Schneiderman, Sr. Director Future of Teaching & Learning, D2L

COVID-19 has put a spotlight on the fragility of our K12 education system, but can also be a flashlight to design the pathway forward. COVID-19 provides a catalyst to reimagine the future of teaching and learning and to rebuild it as a more resilient system, more responsive to both abrupt (e.g., pandemic) but also ongoing disruptions (e.g., economic, social). Join us during your lunch or coffee break for a discussion about how to build local K12 systems more agile and flexible to meet the needs of all students in a dynamic world. We will share a draft framework, identify practices that enable district resiliency, and solicit your experiences and ideas.
