Discover how an LMS can tie assignments directly to rubrics
Provide Meaningful Feedback with Rubrics
Rubrics feedback can lead to deeper learning by students, resulting in higher achievements. They can help students to focus their efforts and produce a higher quality of work – while knowing that the assessment is going to be fair and transparent. Recent improvements enhance and unify the rubric experience in Brightspace for instructors and teachers, allowing students to more easily access feedback and take action as well as helping instructors more easily identity and support students’ needs. With easy to use and consistent workflows, it has never been a better time to use rubrics to provide rich and meaningful feedback.
Keeping Grading Fair
Students can be assured that they are being assessed fairly with anonymous marking. Assignments can be set up by instructors, teachers and graders so that student names are anonymized to remove an unconscious bias in the grading and feedback process.
Extend Student Feedback to Parents
Brightspace for Parents gives parents a virtual seat in the classroom so that they can easily see what’s happening and be better able to support their children. With this release, parents now have access to additional details for grades, rubrics and quizzes. They can help their child stay on top of due dates with the upcoming work and overdue widgets. They’ll be able to see information for discussion activities that their children are involved in. Individual assignment submissions are now accessible, so they can look at their child’s latest project. And if an assignment was done on-paper or in-person, they’ll see this reflected in the upcoming work, overdue, and recent grades widgets. And teachers can rest easy knowing that this information flows into Brightspace for Parents as part of their regular workflow.
Check out the New Content Experience
The new content experience is now connected with the Learning Repository, allowing instructors and teachers to add objects to content from the Learning Repository as well as publish back – making it easy for instructors and teachers to share resources. Navigation in the table of contents has been improved, and file type icons have been added, making it easier to visually distinguish materials. New files can be added to the table of contents quickly with the ability to drag-and-drop. Colors can be customized by administrators, making it easy to match the colors to the school or organization’s branding. And text-to-speech conversion can be done with the Read Speaker integration.
Use Data and Analytics to Develop Feedback Strategies
As teaching and learning moves more and more virtual with less in class instruction and face-time, it is becoming increasingly difficult to rely on qualitative measures of engagement and feedback for students. You need data to facilitate efficient and effective decision making – including strategies that will guide the type and methods of feedback in your classroom. But it must be the right data at the right time. You need tools and knowledge that make it easy to access, analyze and act on your data to answer the questions that matter.
Identifying gaps in your strategy will help to get the most from student data
