Ventura County Community College District Migrates to Desire2Learn Learning Management System

Ventura County Community College District (VCCCD) selects Desire2Learn to grow and expand eLearning offerings across all three colleges

Desire2Learn Incorporated (Desire2Learn), a leading provider of mission-critical enterprise eLearning solutions, today announced that Ventura County Community College District (VCCCD), a three-college district in the metro-Los Angeles area, has selected the Desire2Learn® enterprise eLearning solution and SIS Integration District wide.

VCCCD serves over 36,000 students and was seeking a learning management system (LMS) robust enough to address their growing requirements, incorporating ease-of-use, stability and reliability. After an extensive review process, Desire2Learn was selected.

“We are very excited about teaming up with Desire2Learn. The Desire2Learn platform provides us with a great opportunity to move the District in the direction that will enable us to grow and expand our eLearning offerings to students,” said Dave Furhmann, Associate Vice Chancellor, Information Technology, VCCCD. “The Desire2Learn round-the-clock responsiveness and strong customer-focus gives us the confidence we need going forward.”

Implementation begins immediately with a pilot project set to be underway in the Fall 2009 term. VCCCD courses are scheduled to be fully converted to Desire2Learn and all three campuses will be up and running on the Desire2Learn eLearning Suite by January 2010.

“We are delighted to be partnering with Ventura County Community College District to facilitate a flexible, innovative and interactive online learning environment with the Desire2Learn eLearning Suite. We will work closely with them to enable solutions that work now and into the future as they continue to strive to ensure program and service excellence,” said John Baker, President & CEO, Desire2Learn.
