Desire2Learn Learning Management System (LMS) chosen for flexibility, adaptability and ability to meet eLearning initiatives of San Jos State University (SJSU)
Desire2Learn Incorporated (Desire2Learn), a leading provider of mission-critical enterprise eLearning solutions, today announced that San José State University (SJSU), located in San José, California, has selected the Desire2Learn® enterprise eLearning solution for campus-wide implementation.
SJSU, established in 1857, is the oldest public higher education institution in the state and was the founding campus in the 23-campus California State University (CSU) system. Providing a comprehensive university education, granting bachelor’s and master’s degrees in 134 areas of study to approximately 30,000 undergraduate and graduate students in seven colleges, required a Learning Management System (LMS) robust enough to address their growing requirements while making the best use of scarce financial resources.
“SJSU is looking to increase adoption of our eLearning initiatives across the campus, while maximizing financial resources in these tight financial times,” said William Maguire, VP of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer, San José State University. “We are confident that the easy to use and intuitive Desire2Learn platform will facilitate our plans. Desire2Learn has a proven track record and more than satisfies our standards for accessibility, quality, timeliness and capacity to address our growing LMS needs.”
Desire2Learn was placed on the approved learning management system list by the CSU system earlier this year. Selected in accordance with the RFP requirements for LMS providers, Desire2Learn was determined to be an LMS provider that knows and understands the value of engaging with their clients for true collaboration and for the greatest success of the universities and the company.
“We are delighted to be partnering with San José State University to assist with their eLearning goals,” stated John Baker, President & CEO, Desire2Learn. “Desire2Learn’s demonstrated track record of providing stability, customization and quality customer support along with a solution that enables integration with existing institutional systems such as PeopleSoft, will enable us to work closely with SJSU to ensure they meet or exceed their objectives.”
