D2L, a global learning technology leader, announced today that Red Deer Public Schools, located in Alberta, has selected D2L to support the transition to a more robust learning management system to rapidly transform the school district’s blended and remote learning experience.
The pandemic revealed a need within the Red Deer Public Schools for a more sophisticated remote learning infrastructure and an innovative and cohesive approach to at-home learning. With a current student enrollment of 11,000 learners, Red Deer Public Schools is looking to support their teachers and learners in this new normal of education by increasing their investment in education technology innovation with the help of D2L. Equipped to provide Red Deer Public Schools with a system-wide blended learning model, D2L Brightspace will allow for true collaboration between teachers throughout their course design process, as well as enabling class instruction in either a blended or remote environment.
“Our evaluation process was rigorous, involved the consultation of 40 school divisions across the province and ultimately, D2L Brightspace was selected as the learning platform of choice,” says Ron Eberts, Associate Superintendent of Technology and Information Services, Red Deer Public Schools. “We are excited to work with D2L to deliver an innovative learning environment that meets the demands of this new normal in education.
