NAIT Joins D2L Wave

A Leading Polytechnic Now Part of the D2L Wave Family

Press Release

D2L, a global learning technology company, announced today that the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) has joined D2L Wave platform as an education partner. The courses and programs offered through this partnership will provide participating organizations with up-to-date skills to help meet the increasing skills demand in a post-pandemic world.

The first polytechnic to join D2L Wave’s education partner network, NAIT’s hands-on technology-based learning and applied research will provide working business, science and technology, healthcare and skilled trade professionals in high-demand and emerging career fields access to quality technology and upskilling education.

“We’ve seen a need for programs and courses critically relevant to industries disrupted during the pandemic or going through significant transformation, including oil and gas, manufacturing, and automotive services,” said John Baker, President and CEO of D2L. “Through partnering with NAIT, participating organizations of D2L Wave will be better able to close skill gaps through upskilling, and to retain employees.”

Founded almost 60 years ago, NAIT offers polytechnic education through their four schools – JR Shaw School of Business, School of Applied Sciences and Technology, School of Health and Life Sciences, and School of Skilled Trades – which provides learners with access to over 90 programs leading to degree, diploma and certificate credentials. The polytechnic is also one of the largest apprenticeship trainers in Canada offering 28 registered trades programs.

“Canada’s economic recovery depends on having a qualified and skilled workforce. NAIT is excited to work with D2L to help support industry by providing their employees with the skills needed to advance careers and contribute to prosperity across the country,” said Laura Jo Gunter, NAIT President and CEO.

Courses offered through NAIT’s Corporate and Continuing Education programs have flexible learning options using state-of-the-art online instruction to provide practical knowledge from trusted instructors at a leading polytechnic institution.
