Desire2Learn named ‘Digital Media Company of the Year’ by Canadian Digital Media Network and ‘Best Implementation of Big Data and Analytics’ by Ovum
Desire2Learn Incorporated (“Desire2Learn”), a leader in providing innovative learning solutions, today announced it recently won two prestigious industry awards. The Company won the Canadian Digital Media Network Moonshot Award for “Digital Media Company of the Year” and the “Best Implementation of Big Data and Analytics” in Ovum’s inaugural “On the Radar” awards.
“We’re extremely proud to receive recognition from two prestigious organizations,” said John Baker, President and CEO, Desire2learn. “The awards demonstrate the commitment that Desire2Learn has for providing innovative solutions that impact the education market and personal learning experiences. Through this commitment, we’re honored to be able to help contribute to the growth of the technology and digital media industry.”
Both awards continue the momentum Desire2Learn has generated in the past year. The company recently unveiled the newest Desire2Learn Learning Suite, bringing the power of predictive analytics to the learning industry. Desire2Learn was also recently named one of Canada’s “Best Managed Companies” for 2012 by Deloitte.
“Analytics has traditionally had very little history in the education market. Desire2Learn provides an innovative example of how analytics can be used to create value from the vast amounts of student data generated in a learning environment,” said Tim Jennings, Research Fellow & Ovum’s Chief Analyst. “We’re pleased to recognize Desire2Learn for demonstrating how the power of analytics can enhance the education experience.”
