Desire2Learn Launches New Client Centred Training Initiative

Desire2Learn announces the launch of its new training program which has been developed to reflect the needs of Desire2Learn clients. The new flexible program can be customized to reflect an organization's unique needs and requirements.

Desire2Learn announced today the launch of its new training program which has been developed to reflect the needs of Desire2Learn clients. Clients wanted a training program that could be customized to reflect their unique needs and requirements. The new and flexible training program allows clients the opportunity to select a program that is most suitable for their organization therefore offering a more in-depth, hands-on training experience for participants.

“This is an exciting new initiative with many key benefits for our current and future clients” states Heather Baker, Desire2Learn Training Manager. “It will allow clients to maximize learner potential, improve productivity and is designed to provide them with every possible learning opportunity. Our team of dedicated trainers will work closely with our clients to customize their training program to fit the needs and requirements of their organization.” In addition, the training program can assist clients to develop creative approaches to course creation and delivery.

The training program is organized into teaching and administration tracks. Each track offers a number of courses depending on an individual’s role and level within the organization. Clients can select from the following four training workshop formats to customize their training program: on-site, web-enhanced, virtual and regional training.

“The on-site training we received at St. Cloud State University for campus site administrators was extremely beneficial. The face-to-face training venue allowed immediate interaction between trainer and participant on a more personal level and enabled all participants to easily share ideas and present questions in a relaxed, learning-conducive environment,” states Karen Wenz, IMS System Administrator, St. Cloud State University. “Participants walked away from the training with the sense that they had learned valuable information that would be useful to them immediately.”

Regional workshops are a new training format offered to Desire2Learn clients. This format aims to provide participants with a central location to learn, share knowledge and connect with teachers and administrators who are using Desire2Learn technology. Based on the “train-the-trainer” model, trainers will provide participants with valuable knowledge on how to effectively set up courses, train fellow teachers and administrators and make the most of the Desire2Learn Learning Environment and other key products. Sessions are collaborative and are designed to include hands-on practice, scenario planning and networking opportunities.
