Desire2Learn Announces Wolters Kluwer Health as a Partner in eLearning

Wolters Kluwer Health selects Desire2Learn Inc. as its eLearning Platform.

Desire2Learn Inc., a world-leading provider of enterprise learning solutions, today announced that Wolters Kluwer Health, a leading medical information provider and publisher, has selected the Desire2Learn Learning Platform, to provide eLearning services to health and medical professionals worldwide.

Previously without a Learning Management System (LMS) in place, Wolters Kluwer Health saw the need to provide the healthcare industry with their content through an eLearning platform. Through their evaluation process, Wolters Kluwer Health was looking for an established company which would provide them with not only a superior enterprise platform, but also advanced support services, and most importantly, a solid partnership to ensure the success of their new eLearning initiative.

“The Desire2Learn eLearning platform met all of our learning management requirements hands down,” states Allison Risko, LMS Product Manger of Lippincott Williams & Wilkins. “The true test was in finding a company which supported our work in providing critical information for individual medical and health professionals and students, but more importantly, worked collaboratively with us. They could ensure our clients success as well as our continued success as a leader in healthcare publishing.”

Wolters Kluwer Health will be offering premier content which correlates with their nursing and health professional journals, drug guides, and medical, nursing and health profession textbooks. They will launch their three showcase courses and 77 regular courses at the beginning of February 2006.

“Our relationship with Wolters Kluwer Health will be a true partnership,” affirms John Baker, Desire2Learn President & CEO. “We will be working closely with Wolters Kluwer Health to augment their publishing content and assist them in providing a successful learning environment through additional resources and support.”

Wolters Kluwer Health will implement the Desire2Learn Learning Platform, a complete suite of easy-to-use teaching and learning tools for course development, delivery, assessment, communication, learning management, and much more. The agreement also includes the Desire2Learn Learning Object Repository, enabling the storing, sharing and tracking of learning objects, as well as Desire2Learn Hosting facilities located in Toronto Ontario.
