Desire2Learn and MnSAT Honored with International Award of Excellence

Press Release

Desire2Learn and Minnesota Satellite & Technology receive Award of Excellence in Videographer Awards 2010

Desire2Learn Incorporated (Desire2Learn), a leading provider of mission-critical enterprise eLearning solutions, along with Minnesota Satellite and Technology (MnSAT), has received the prestigious Award of Excellence in the Videographer Awards 2010 competition.

MnSAT is a division of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) system, a Desire2Learn client. MnSAT worked in partnership with the Desire2Learn team to produce the “Desire2Learn FUSION Users’ Conference Overview” video which highlights the sixth annual Desire2Learn Users’ Conference co-hosted by MnSCU in Minneapolis-St. Paul in July 2009.

“It was a team effort that we hope captures the story of this close “family” of Desire2Learn conference attendants as they shared what is new and relevant for their teaching and learning communities,” stated Gary Hatteberg, Executive Producer, Minnesota Satellite and Technology.

Winners were selected from 1,800 global entries in 166 categories under the headings of television productions, video productions and new media. The Award of Excellence was awarded to those projects that the judges deemed were written, produced, shot and/or edited in an exceptional manner.

“We are very proud to be the recipient of this Award of Excellence acknowledging the tremendous collaborative effort with MnSAT,” said John McLeod, Director of Marketing, Desire2Learn. “FUSION, our annual Users’ Conference, offers a face-to-face opportunity to connect with clients to share experiences, build knowledge and form ongoing connections with peers. This award is an external reflection of the dedication and enthusiasm our staff has for delivering this exciting client focused initiative.”

The goal of the Videographer Awards is to identify and recognize the video artisans who excel in the scope of their own environment. Winners range from network news operations to local cable access… from large production companies to freelancers… from international advertising agencies to student producers.

The Videographer Awards is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals. The international organization consists of several thousand marketing, communication, advertising, public relations, media production and free-lance professionals who have entered AMCP programs. The Advisory Board oversees awards and recognition programs, provides judges and sets standards of excellence.
