Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional Qualification Program to be Driven By Brightspace
Global learning technology leader D2L today announced that The Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals (CAIRP) will be using Brightspace to help people become a Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional (CIRP).
CAIRP is the national professional organization representing more than 980 members working in the insolvency system, as well as over 500 articling, life and corporate associates. Almost ninety percent of Licensed Insolvency Trustees, licensed under Canada’s Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act are members of CAIRP.
“Our needs are somewhat complex and unique,” said Grant Christensen, President and COO. “Our program provides a theoretical, technical and practical background in insolvency and restructuring that has to complement practical knowledge gained from work experience — in both English and French. D2L was able to satisfy those needs in a way that was easy, flexible and smart.”
CAIRP develops and delivers The Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional Qualification Program or CIRP Qualification Program (CQP). The CQP is the path people follow to become a CIRP — specialists who provide insolvency, turnaround and restructuring services. Additionally, this is the path to become a Licensed Insolvency Trustee (LIT) and as well, a qualified BIA counsellor. LITs are the only professionals authorized and regulated to administer proposals and bankruptcies to consumers and businesses experiencing financial stress.
Moving forward, CAIRP plans to use newer content such as interactive content, webinars, discussion and community building among candidates and between candidates and sponsors to further deepen the learning experience. For the organization’s changing needs, D2L offers the right balance between ease of use by candidates, sponsors and administrators, flexibility in design of courses/exams, ability to easily integrate other applications and affordability.
- CAIRP was created as a non-profit corporation in 1979 to advocate for a fair, transparent and effective system of insolvency/restructuring administration throughout Canada.
- The organization’s mission is “to provide an adaptable and relevant education and qualification program that affords a flexible learning structure to talented individuals seeking to provide professional insolvency and restructuring services.”
