Library training services provider to deploy Brightspace to align learning to the digital information era

As a result, LTSA recently initiated a five-phase strategy to evolve the way it provides training as libraries continue to become less about just books, and more about information and collaboration spaces that combine the physical and digital knowledge. With the first two phases – comprising an overhaul in the way content is developed and delivered to students – completed, it commenced the third stage to find a system that could align to the evolving industry in which it operates.
Following a competitive evaluation against other Learning Management System (LMS) vendors, LTSA selected Brightspace because it is easy to understand and use, has extensive interactive capabilities, and offers powerful mobile capabilities so that students can learn at their convenience. Importantly, it can deliver these capabilities within a customisable digital environment that moulds to the unique preferences of every student in Australia and abroad. Brightspace also helps facilitate efficient and effective administration processes around student management and assessment that helps LTSA deploy its resources to ensure better customer and student experiences, with a more human touch.

With Brightspace, LTSA will be able to deliver macro- and micro-degrees that incorporate ebooks and audio books, but also emerging industries such as virtual and augmented reality. For example, students will be able to use VR headsets to explore locations around the world without physically attending them, and leverage these experiences to better advise visitors. This will, in turn, fulfil LTSA’s objective of reshaping public perception of the role of libraries in the digitally driven world.
