Annual Desire2Learn Users’ Conference Kicks-Off in Chicago

Global attendees come together at FUSION 2010 to network, collaborate, access developers and key executives, as well as share best practices in eLearning.

Desire2Learn Incorporated (Desire2Learn), a leading provider of mission-critical enterprise eLearning solutions, opened FUSION 2010: Architects of Education, today. This is the seventh annual Desire2Learn Users’ Conference, held this year in Chicago, Illinois, July 11 – 16.
Attendees, representing institutions and organizations worldwide, have a week-long slate of occasions to build new pathways in eLearning, foster networking opportunities, share ideas and best-practices, celebrate successes, collaborate, motivate and be motivated by others.

With more than 160 sessions, four tracks, an Executive Session, three keynote addresses, networking events and post-conference workshops, attendees have many opportunities to participate in a full range of engaging sessions.

“FUSION is our most important event of the year as it brings us together with so many of our clients and partners. FUSION 2010 kicks-off with a keynote address by Dr. Stuart Brown, Founder and President, The National Institute for Play who will discuss the growing data on the relationship of play to performance, innovation and creativity, emotional regulation, and overall well-being.

On Tuesday, Julie Evans, CEO, Project Tomorrow, will take the stage asking attendees if they are ready for the new “Free Agent Learner.”

Joel Cohen, Writer and Co-Executive Producer on The Simpsons, “the greatest TV show of the 20th century” (Time), will wrap-up FUSION on Wednesday afternoon. Joel will deliver a message on “The Business Tao of Homer: Lessons in Creativity and Innovation From The Simpsons.”

Additionally, the third annual FUSION Executive Program runs on Monday. This one-day workshop brings together international decision makers from diverse institutions and organizations to jointly debate and discuss issues being addressed in eLearning. The focus of this year’s session will be Building a Data-driven Culture and Organization.

Returning as well are the highly valued Post-conference workshops on July 15 and 16 at the same location as the main conference. Attendees are able to engage in hands-on training and insight into the latest Desire2Learn products and services.

Representatives from the Desire2Learn Product Management team will be available at the Desire2Learn product booth as well as at the demo pods, located on the seventh floor in the Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile. They will provide conference attendees with deep-dive demonstrations of all Desire2Learn products and services, including new products being unveiled at FUSION.
