27-year-old Oxford University Rhodes Scholar is opening keynote at Desire2Learn Users' Conference - FUSION 2011
Desire2Learn Incorporated (Desire2Learn), a leading provider of enterprise teaching and learning platforms, today announced that Jonah Lehrer, Contributing Editor for Wired magazine, will be the opening keynote at the 2011 FUSION Users’ Conference July 11 – 15 in Denver, Colorado.
A Rhodes Scholar and bestselling science author, Jonah has been hailed as “an important new thinker” by The Los Angeles Times, and is well known for his books Proust Was a Neuroscientist and How We Decide. In How We Decide, he explores the reasons that people make certain decisions, based on neurons and cognitive norms, and how they are influenced by social factors. He notes the turn of phrase “Paralysis by Analysis” to demonstrate that too much information is paralyzing as an individual faces a multitude of variables they must think through in making decisions.
“Having Jonah Lehrer speak at FUSION will be an energizing opportunity for our clients,” states John McLeod, Sr. Director of Marketing, Desire2Learn. “His modern theories and scientific insight into the human brain will fit perfectly with the FUSION sessions.”
Lehrer has been compared to Malcolm Gladwell, bestselling author of The Tipping Point, and is acclaimed by The London Observer as being able to “…change the way you think about thinking.”
