Colorado school selects Desire2Learn Learning Suite for Schools noting ease of use, customizability and flexibility as deciding factors.
Desire2Learn Incorporated (Desire2Learn), a leading provider of enterprise teaching and learning platforms, today announced that Academy Online in Academy School District 20, one of Colorado’s highest performing public education districts, has migrated to Desire2Learn Learning Suite for Schools.
With a capacity for 5,000 users, Academy Online will begin piloting Desire2Learn in early July for a select number of summer courses and will fully implement the system for its slate of fall classes beginning in mid-August. Desire2Learn will enable students within the district, and from across the state, to access the school’s multi-district certified online program. To ensure that student performance continues to exceed the state’s education standards, Desire2Learn will assist Academy Online in facilitating online professional development programs among a potential pool of 3,000 district staff.
Desire2Learn will offer our students a personalized and engaging education experience that will greatly enhance their learning, remarks Rick Tanski, Principal, Academy Online. We strive to equip students with the knowledge, character and life-long learning skills to become exceptional citizens. The ease of use, customizability and reliability of the Desire2Learn platform will enable us to provide an interactive and collaborative educational environment for our students that will help us achieve this vision.
Recognizing demand from both students and teachers for a more progressive and intuitive online platform, Desire2Learn offers the opportunity to better facilitate course creation, update curriculum and accelerate current course offerings.
Tanski states, The migration to the Desire2Learn platform will enable us to increase learning opportunities for our students in face of declining budgets. We have indeed found the right partner to support the success of our students.
Academy Online has also built in a consortium model so that other districts in Colorado can partner with the Academy and leverage resources as they develop online learning themselves.
We are pleased to be partnering with Academy Online as the school looks to grow and enrich their virtual learning environment, states John Baker, President & CEO, Desire2Learn. The intuitiveness of the Desire2Learn platform and the high quality of learning that it fosters will ensure that Academy Online continues to thrive in its delivery of innovative and engaging education in both their blended and online programs.
