For many people, social media is part of the daily routine, and corporate learning leaders can use this behavior to their benefit when it comes to employee learning, training, and development.
Rather than thinking of social media solely as a distraction, see it as a source of creative inspiration—a wellspring for developing strategies around improving employee engagement around learning and the learning experience overall.

- Regularly using an activity feed to share information is a much easier and organized process than writing up a newsletter or sending out emails.
- Employees want to access learning anytime and anywhere. An activity feed can grab and keep employees’ interest, and allow them to engage with instructors, managers, mentors, and peers, and access social content related to relevant training materials whenever and wherever they choose.

- Use polls to ask employees questions and see their responses daily.
- Determine what employees believe are relevant and timely discussion topics.
- Regular polls can engage employees in communication and collaboration by keeping them “coming back for more.”
