Hear how TU Delft Transformed the Learner Experience
On 7-8 November, SURF Onderwijsdagen takes place in Rotterdam. The event promises to highlight trends and developments in education and ICT that will inspire professionals in secondary and higher education.
This year, a central focus is on customised learning. Here at D2L we are all about using technology to make it possible to adapt learning to meet individual student needs. This is achievable through mobile online learning, adaptive course content and delivery and learning analytics to optimise results through an understanding of learning behaviours.
We’re delighted to be joining Erna Kotkamp, senior project manager at the Netherlands’ TU Delft University in one of the event’s parallel interactive digital learning environment sessions. In the session, Erna will discuss why TU Delft wanted to modernise its learning environment and the challenges the university faced looking for a cutting-edge learning management system. Erna will cover:
- the strategy that involved all stakeholders in choosing and implementing a modern, innovative learning environment and how this became a successful educational project and not just an IT project
- how the students and teachers are taking advantage of the technology
- how the university is now able to support current and future developments in teaching and learning.
This session is an ideal opportunity to examine the challenges and obstacles that higher education institutions face when transitioning to a modern, technology-based learning environment. With rising student expectations, tighter budgets and external pressure to embrace new models such as blended, flipped and adaptive learning while still achieving good results, universities can struggle to remain competitive.
TU Delft has enhanced the learner experience through effective individual, personalised learning paths. It is now able to offer a mobile-friendly user experience so that students can engage in online and campus education through a single platform.
We look forward to seeing you at Surf Onderwijsdagen and hope you can join us and Erna to hear first-hand how TU Delft has modernised its learning environment to give students a more personalised, flexible and engaging learning experience.
