David Jones is revolutionising its current training model to move away from its dated and fixed training schedule to offer a more flexible and modern digital experience. They recently implemented Brightspace, D2L’s learning platform, to provide seamless online training courses. This programmatic learning approach will allow the business to deliver high-value transformational projects for training, upskilling and reskilling digitally capable employees.
During the 2020 L&D Techfest, Juanique Vorster, David Jone’s Merchandise Subject Matter Educator, told the audience about the benefits of using a next-generation learning platform for offering a blended learning training approach whilst incorporating an ‘old school’ networking and collaborating space. She relayed the company´s plans to scope and create better training processes through employee ‘Knowledge Champions’ and converting their knowledge into AI to share with peers throughout the learning process.
