Robyn Williams is a science journalist and presenter of Radio National’s Ockham’s Razor and The Science Show. He has conducted countless interviews with scientists for ABC TV and is highly respected in the academic world. Robyn Williams was the first journalist elected as a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science and he received an Honorary Doctorate in Science from the Universities of Sydney, Macquarie and Deakin. The ANU awarded him a Doctorate of Law, and he is a Visiting Professor at the University of NSW and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Queensland. He has written over 10 books and is currently an Ambassador of the Queensland Museum Foundation.
Professor Shane Dawson
Shane Dawson is a Professor of Learning Analytics and the Director of the Teaching Innovation Unit at the University of South Australia. Shane’s research focuses on the use of social network analysis and learner ICT interaction data to inform and benchmark teaching and learning quality. Shane is a founding executive member of the Society for Learning Analytics Research and past program and conference chair of the International Learning Analytics and Knowledge conference. He is a co-developer of numerous open source software including OnTask a personalised feedback tool; Online Video Annotations for Learning (OVAL) and SNAPP a social network visualisation resource designed for teaching staff to better understand, identify and evaluate student learning, engagement, academic performance and creative capacity.
