Your mission will be to help customers find solutions that connect their technical requirements to our Brightspace Learning Platform. As a Solutions Architect you are the main point of contact for our Solutions Engineers (you may refer to them as Sales Engineers or SEs). When technical challenges go beyond the scope or expectation of SE knowledge, you will assist with scoping technical requirements and presenting solutions to help win sales opportunities. 

In addition to developing and providing technical solutions, you will also be able to serve in an advisory capacity for selling and positioning our services. You understand the concepts of providing an excellent customer experience and demonstrate a strong sense of urgency to meet customer requirements relative to the position you serve. Bring your creativity and enthusiasm to D2L to help us transform the way the world learns. 

How will I make an impact?

  • Partner with Solution Engineers (or Sales Engineers) to scope complex technical requirements from sales opportunities.
  • Design, document, and present solutions for opportunities related to technical and partner integrations, security, data exchange, implementation, and more.
  • Assess and mitigate any risks that might hinder the successful delivery of integrations and implementation with Brightspace
  • Be a liaison between the Implementation Team and sales opportunities to ensure technical knowledge is documented and transferred for a successful implementation
  • Contribute materials and expertise for enablement and work with internal SME teams (Implementation, Sales, Product Management) to identify and fill information gaps that help Solution Engineers communicate basic to intermediate level technical concepts.
  • Create re-usable assets, responding to one-off requests for information, or assisting other groups in creating and maintaining assets.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • 5+ years of experience in a Pre-Sales focused capacity, Sales Engineer or related role 
  • Has experience in a sales, consulting, or other client-facing role
  • Familiarity with enterprise software sales process, as well as expertise in service delivery
  • Proven experience in technical or marketing writing, with a passion for writing with precision
  • Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Team oriented – Foster collaborative and positive relationships between sales, services, and other internal teams.
  • Leadership, initiative and execution – Identify organizational and informational gaps and define and execute plans to close gaps; take leadership in problem solving; drive programs from definition to close
  • Experience in the educational technology sector or with an LMS
  • Background interpreting and responding to RFPs, gathering client requirements, writing SOWs
  • Experience coordinating multiple roles to gather elements for estimation
  • Knowledge working in (or with) Sales or Services organizations would be an asset, specifically in a Project Management capacity
  • Familiar or experienced with Learning Management Systems like Brightspace is desirable
  • Background in teaching and learning industry would be an asset
  • Previous sales support would be an asset
  • Solid presentation skills, with the ability to convince and persuade
  • Demonstrations of sound time management, self-organize

Education Recommendations: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalen
