Welcome to Learning insights, Desire2Learn’s latest communication channel. Through this blog it is our hope to build even more ways to spark dialog with those interested in improving teaching and learning around the world.
We’re innovators, educators, engineers and enthusiasts who seek to unlock the potential of learners globally. For the last 11 years we’ve been working hard on solving some of the toughest problems facing our clients including: retention, improving outcomes, compliance/accreditation, sparking greater learner engagement, speeding the development of quality courses and programs. We’ve been making learning technology more accessible, social, personal, and intelligent. But most importantly, we’re helping our clients achieve their goals and we’re still only just getting started. We’ve not been alone on this journey and we’re looking forward to sharing insights from many of our clients and users.
For this particular blog, we’ll be focusing on what is happening across the board in learning (not just what is happening at Desire2Learn): the trends, the innovators, how tools are being leveraged to transform learning, and profiling the organizations spearheading change. We want to find ways to showcase how teaching and learning is delivered within various organizations, across sectors and geography. There has been rapid adoption of technology to support online, hybrid, and blended learning and we look forward to sharing our insights along our journey.
There will be various contributors – both within and external to our organization – who will provide a variety of perspectives on items we believe to be of relevance to you, our readers.
eLearning has changed how we all teach and learn; there are many exciting developments yet to occur as we’re just starting our journey of innovation. Our purpose through this blog is to actively engage in that transformative process by asking questions, delving into the issues and, hopefully, quickening the development of eLearning by providing those in the field, or interested in it, with thought-provoking posts and ideas.
We are thrilled to be launching this blog and look forward to connecting with you on all things regarding learning. Which leads me to comments – we want to hear from you and welcome comments! Dialog and the sharing of ideas is an important part of the learning process. We don’t pretend to be the experts in all topics and we can all learn more and grow as we share our perspectives, insights and expertise with each other.
We’re committed to collaborating with you to improve human potential worldwide and to helping make learning accessible to all. Thanks for joining us on this journey.
