15 Years Of Progress: Academy Online High School

  • 2 Min Read

John Baker, President and CEO of Desire2Learn (D2L), on the occasion of the company’s 15th anniversary: “When I think about the current age of information and the next fifteen years, the promise of progress feels even bigger and more inspiring. As we build our knowledge through data and insights and tap into our collective experiences, the path we’re on to personalize and improve learning couldn’t be more significant and exciting.”

Academy Online High School (AOHS) has a clear mandate to ensure students in the state of Colorado are equipped to succeed as they pursue higher education and enter the workforce. Operating fully online provides AOHS with an opportunity to reach kids who may not otherwise finish high school.

As explained by Rick Tanski, the Principal of AOHS: “We serve all kinds of kids who just need a more flexible schedule. They may be unable to attend school due to medical reasons, or because they’re part of a military family, or perhaps there’s a personal issue. Our job is to help them all graduate.”

Multiple points of feedback and early intervention are key factors in helping students meet their graduation goals. AOHS is committed to providing personalized feedback and trending overall student performance so that they can intervene before it’s too late.

AOHS is one of the first K–12 schools in the world to leverage predictive analytics technology to help inform and impact the success of their students. As an early adopter of this technology, they are helping to pioneer the use of predictive analytics in education.

For their continued commitment to positively impacting graduation rates and student success, we thank Academy Online High School for everything they have done!
